Competitive benchmarking and voice of customer surveys showed primers with high in-can structure are valued by customers for build and vertical stability. As customers will be sanding down that high build PPG has engineered this product to be extremely easy to sand. The trade-off of this type of technology compared to the more premium primers in PPG’s range is that the high structure tends to generate more peel and overspray. Customers need to keep this in mind while diluting and applying this primer. Despite this, the properties of this product are top of the range for the target customers. Once sanded, this product gives a great final appearance.
To optimize efficiency and speed of preparation a pre-thinning option can be done just adding the thinner directly in the 2L Packsize and stirring on a standard mixing machine, that product will then have a simple 5:1 ratio.
