Success at Snetterton for Plato

Following two podium finishes at the sixth round of BTCC at Snetterton Circuit, Jason Plato has closed to within 10 points of the top of the championship having gone into the round trailing by 29 points behind current leader Matt Neal.

Jason Plato won the first of Snetterton's three Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship races to close in on the championship lead.

Plato, starting from second, took the lead at the first bend and was never overtaken in the PPG painted KX Momentum Racing MG6. He also set the race's fastest lap in 1m 58.682 seconds en route to this third win of the season.

Plato also pulled in a third and fourth in race one and two. It means reigning Champion Neal retains the championship lead but is now only ten points ahead of Plato. The great results at Snetterton have certainly moved Plato right back into contention as he chases a third BTCC title.

Fellow team mate Andy Neate remains at 17th position in the championship with 51 points following an incident with Chris James in race one and Jeff Smith in race two.
